NSF REU supplement awarded to the Hillyer Lab, 2013

A “Research Experiences for Undergraduates” (REU) Award has been made by the to principal investigator Julián Hillyer. This grant will support the research and stipend of one undergraduate student during the summer of 2013. This award is a supplement to the lab’s NSF grant titled “Hemolymph circulation in mosquitoes” (NSF IOS-1257936), and represents a mentoring collaboration between Professor Julian Hillyer (һݶ) and (Belmont University).
The (NSF) is an independent federal agency created by Congress in 1950 "to promote the progress of science; to advance the national health, prosperity, and welfare; to secure the national defense…"
The (IOS) supports research aimed at an integrative understanding of organisms. The goal is to predict why organisms are structured the way they are, and function as they do.
