Furthermore, it is not well-understood how these sources of image degradation vary between patients and which one is the most deleterious. This talk will first provide an overview of a novel method to measure sources of image degradation in vivo using signal spatiotemporal coherence. We will then showcase the utility of coded excitation for improving image quality in transcranial ultrasound imaging. Together, these advances lay the groundwork for the eventual success of functional neuroimaging with ultrasound.

and
Rachel Teater, PhD Candidate (ME), Department of Mechanical Engineering
RiP #2: Title: Exploring the effects of prosthetic ankle and toe joint range of motion on activities of daily living
RIP #2 Description: Many lower limb prosthesis users live with mobility challenges that affect their ability to carry out daily activities and live independently. We are exploring if the addition of ankle or toe joint range of motion could improve their ability to perform common daily movements. We are collecting data with participants performing these tasks wearing their prescribed passive prosthesis and the Vanderbilt Powered Ankle (used to emulate design changes in prosthetic ankle and/or toe articulation).

VISE Research in Progress (RiP) Date: Thursday, July 22, 2021 Time: Noon admittance, 12:05 p.m. remarks, 12:10 p.m. start Emelina Vienneau, PhD Candidate (BME), Department of Biomedical Engineering RiP #1: Title: Towards Noninvasive Functional Ultrasound Neuroimaging RIP #1 Description: Transcranial ultrasound imaging of blood flow is extremely challenging due to various forms of image degradation that are…

[12
334,231,64,673,72,30,560

https://cdn.vanderbilt.edu/vu-URL/wp-content/uploads/sites/193/2023/05/19203438/Vienneau-and-Teater.jpg
