Front Desks

Residence hall desks serve as central support locations for key checkout, lockout assistance, and residential services.

  • Front Desks Overview
    • Key checkout locations vary by residential area
    • Desk locations provide support for lockouts, temporary keys, and resident assistance
    • Front desk hours are 9 a.m.鈥�5 p.m. CT, with the exception of the Hank Ingram Desk, which is open 24 hours.
      • After 5 p.m., the Resident Adviser can be reached at the posted duty phone number.

Laundry

Laundry machines are available free of charge for residence hall residents.

Music Rooms

Music practice rooms are available in select residence halls and designated community spaces.

  • Music Room Overview
    • Music rooms are available by reservation only
    • Reservations may be made in 15-minute increments
    • Reservations are limited to 60 minutes at a time
    • Food and drinks are prohibited in music rooms
    • Some locations include pianos while others provide individual or small group practice space

  • How to Reserve a Music Room
    1. Access
    2. Login with VUNET ID and password
    3. Click on 'Room Reservation'
    4. Click on 'Room Group' and filter by the group you need
    5. Select your date and time, and click 'Reserve'
    6. Choose confirmation via text or email, and click 'Confirm'

Beds

  • Bed Size

    Vanderbilt provided mattresses are 36" wide X 78鈥� long. Regular twin sheets are appropriate, however if you use a mattress topper of any kind, you will need to use twin XL sheets.

    Housing has a limited number of 82鈥� mattresses for residents who are 6鈥�5鈥� and taller. These are issued in the order requested until the supply is depleted. Please email聽housing@vanderbilt.edu聽to request.

  • Rails and Ladders

    Ladders and safety rails are provided in all residence hall rooms with the exception of Morgan and Lewis. Morgan and Lewis residents are welcome to聽聽for either or both for their room. To do so, after logging in, select furniture and bedrails/bed ladders and provide a description (side of room, bedding color, etc), if residing in group living.

    All provided furniture, including rails and ladders, must remain in the residence hall room and cannot be removed. Students will be charged if they are not present.

Custodial & Maintenance

五一茶馆儿 Maintenance and Operations oversees custodial and maintenance services throughout the residence halls.

  • Custodial Services Overview
    • Common area bathrooms are serviced daily
    • In-unit kitchens and bathrooms are serviced weekly
    • Students may not opt out of custodial services
  • Submit a Maintenance Request

    To submit a non-emergency maintenance request at Vanderbilt, use the university's . Select "New Job," choose your room, categorize the issue, and provide specific details.聽
