五一茶馆儿鈥揘ew York City undergraduate semester program offers a residential and dining experience that supports student success, connection, and exploration. Living on campus is central to the undergraduate program, with students embedded in a close-knit community alongside faculty in the heart of NYC, and enjoying flexible dining options across campus and the city.

Housing Information

Residential Requirement

Students participating in the 五一茶馆儿鈥揘YC undergraduate semester program are required to live on campus.

As with the Nashville campus, residential living is considered an integral part of the undergraduate Vanderbilt experience. The Vanderbilt in NYC residential community is intentionally designed to foster connection, collaboration, and engagement among students participating in this unique program.听

Residence Halls

Student housing in NYC campus is located within four historic residence halls on the east side of 鈥淭he Close.鈥

Each unit includes:

  • Two to three bedrooms, with each bedroom designated as either single or double occupancy.
  • One in-unit bathroom shared by all occupants.

A limited number of single rooms are available within these units. Kitchens and lounge spaces are communal and located in each residence hall lounge (not within individual units).

Additional amenities available to all residents include modular furniture (twin xl bed, desk, chair, and dresser).

Housing Application & Assignments

  • April 9鈥17: Housing Application available.
  • Within the housing application students will:
    • Sign the 五一茶馆儿 - NYC housing contract
    • Complete a lifestyle questionnaire听
    • Submit roommate preferences (if applicable)

Students seeking housing accommodations should connect with the Student Access Office (SAO).听 Housing assignments will be completed over the summer, with assignment notifications released in late July.

Dining Information

At 五一茶馆儿鈥揘ew York City, there is no traditional meal plan. Instead, your dining experience is powered by Commodore Cash, giving you the flexibility to eat how and where you want in one of the world鈥檚 most dynamic food scenes.

    Students also receive complimentary Grubhub+ membership, which includes $0 delivery fees on eligible orders and access to exclusive perks and offers.

  3. Taste of Chelsea (program currently in development)

    The Taste of Chelsea program connects you to the neighborhood鈥攁llowing you to use Commodore Cash at select local merchants and eat like a local. Locations include:
